Prince Louis' first birthday, 2019
To mark Prince Louis' first birthday last week, Kensington Palace unveiled a new set of official portraits. And in keeping with family tradition, the Duchess of Cambridge took the adorable pictures herself. The stunning photos, which were taken earlier this month, show little Louis playing in the garden of the family's Norfolk home, Anmer Hall. The photographs were taken earlier this month by The Duchess at their home in Norfolk."

“These next few weeks are always a bit daunting the first time round so we wish them all the best.
“It’s such a special time, obviously with Louis and Charlotte just having had their birthdays it’s such a great time of year to have a baby, spring is in the air.”
Prince William added: “I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my own brother into the sleep deprivation society that is parenting.”

Graduation, 2005
In June 2005, William and Kate's university life came to an end. After their graduation ceremony the couple, joined by their families, attended a celebratory lunch together, and began looking forward to the rest of their lives – but nothing, from here on in, would be the same. Having been able to live in virtual seclusion during their time as students, they wouldn't be granted such luxury once out of the safety of Fife and into the big, wide world.

Prince George is born, 2013
The nation and royal fans around the world rejoiced when William and Kate presented their firstborn and third-in-line to the throne Prince George to the world in July 2013. The royal baby was a mere day old when he made his first official appearance on the steps of the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London.
William showed just how hands-on he was as he safely placed baby George into a car seat at the back of their vehicle and whisked new mum Kate and their son home to Kensington Palace.

Kate visits Balmoral, 2007
The couple didn't get engaged – but they did have something else in store: Kate's first meeting with the Queen since their split hit the headlines. They headed to Balmoral, the royal Scottish hideaway where the monarch and Prince Phillip spend their summers, for a short break.
"William said the Seychelles holiday with Kate was perfect because it was just the two of them," reported a friend. "William was originally going to take a group of friends stag-shooting to Balmoral, but decided he wanted some time with Kate. They are very much in love and want to enjoy their relationship out of the spotlight before they go public again."

Split rumours, 2006
I
n April that year, the nation was shocked by swirling reports that the royal couple – pictured here at Cheltenham races just one month earlier – had parted ways. While Clarence House declined to comment on the split, BBC Royal Correspondent Peter Hunt said: "It's a surprise, because it had seemed very stable and very steady."
Sources, however, alleged that their decision was made amicably and mutually. "Neither my client nor her family will be talking to the press or media or commenting on or off the record relating to the matters publicised this morning," announced Kate's lawyer.

The Warren family have long been connected to the royal family; Jake's father John Warren is the Queen's racing manager. The father-and-son team run Highclere Stud in Newbury together.

Trini Foyle
Trini and Kate have been best friends since they were 14 years old after attending Marlborough school together. After Marlborough, Trini took an MA in politics at Edinburgh University, and worked as an assistant in the office of Jeremy Hunt MP. Trini is also a mother to a young son called Alexander, whom she shares with her husband Ted Foyle. The close friends have often been seen taking Alexander for a walk in Kensington Gardens.

Kate Middleton Skiing, 2004
In April 2004, the first picture of the couple was published. Four months after romance blossomed between the pair, a ski break in Klosters confirmed that Prince William was indeed enjoying his first ever serious relationship with this pretty brunette.
She was reported to have spent several weekends at a remote cottage on the Queen's Balmoral estate and taken painstaking steps to keep their budding closeness under wraps. "They're an item," confirmed a close friend, as Clarence House said: "It is not our policy to discuss the nature of Prince William's relationships with his friends. It wouldn't be fair on him or them."

First  royal wedding together, 2006
It wasn't too long before Kate got to experience a royal wedding. In May 2006, she attended the nuptials of the Duchess of Cornwall's daughter Laura Parker Bowles and her husband – Calvin Klein underwear model turned accountant Harry Lopes. It was their first appearance together at a family wedding and seen by royal watchers as a sign that Kate was gearing up to be a permanent fixture in William's life.

Sophie Carter
Sophie is close a close friend of Kate's, so much so that the Duchess chose her to be one of Princess Charlotte's godmothers. It's therefore not surprising that Sophie, who lives close to Prince William and Kate's country home Anmer Hall, asked her goddaughter to be a bridesmaid at her wedding in September. The close friends go way back and have been pictured at various events together, from Wimbledon to Christmas Day church services in Norfolk. Sophie was also a guest at Pippa Middleton's wedding and Prince Harry and Meghan's royal nuptials. She once used to date Thomas van Straubenzee, Prince William's close friend who also happens to be Princess Charlotte's godfather. Sophie even joined the Cambridges during their skiing vacation in 2016.

Kate Middleton at St Andrew's University, 2002
It's thought that Kate first won William's affections after she took part in a charity fashion show in March 2002. The Prince paid £200 for a front row ticket to watch the beautiful student – who was widely credited with encouraging him to persevere with his studies when he was finding it hard to settle down to university life – sashay down the catwalk in a revealing ensemble. However, at this time, Kate was seeing someone else. The pretty brunette didn't begin dating William until she split from her previous boyfriend – a former St Andrews student.

Emilia Jardine-Paterson
Emilia attended Marlborough College with Kate, and the pair have been tight ever since. Following the royal couple's brief split in 2007, Emilia accompanied Kate on holiday to Ibiza. She has since been made one of Prince George's godmothers, and currently runs an interior design company. It has previously been reported that she helped Kate redecorate Kensington Palace and Anmer Hall. Her husband David also attended Eton College with William.

Engagement announcement, 2010
The following month in November 2010, the delighted couple broke their silence, and shared their engagement joy. William had presented his future bride with his late mother Princess Diana's ring – a blue sapphire diamond sparkler.

Kate protects her privacy 2006
Her presence sparked a media frenzy and engagement rumours refused to die down, as Kate drew comparisons to William's late mother Diana in her elegant red coat and black hat. Suddenly, Kate was a target for the paparazzi, and the young couple were followed closely as they went about their day-to-day lives.
It was a momentous occasion for Prince William when he passed out from Sandhurst in December 2006 – for more reasons than one. The occasion was the first time that his girlfriend – who had recently begun a job as an accessories buyer for high street store Jigsaw – had been seen at a high-profile public event also attended by the Queen and other senior royals.
By January, lawyers for the Princess-to-be announced they were considering legal action over the photographers tracking her every move, and in response Britain's newspapers banned the use of paparazzi pictures. However, in March she lodged a complaint to the Press Complaints Commission over a paparazzi photograph published in the Daily Mirror, showing her on her way to work with a takeaway coffee.
The paper issued a public apology and the complaint was withdrawn. But the pressure the intrusion put on their union would eventually become too much for them to bear...

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William are already parents to three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. And this week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge received a new nephew with the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The Duchess of Cambridge seemed to be over the moon with the arrival of Archie and echoed her husband’s excitement who said he was “obviously thrilled”.
She said: “As William said, we’re looking forward to meeting him and finding out what his name’s going to be, so it’s really exciting for both of them and we wish them all the best.

But although the couple’s might be inspired by their royal relatives and their newest arrival, the reason Kate could have another child soon is due to something else.
A friend of the Duchess revealed to the Daily Mail how Kate simply “loves children”.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s friend said: “Catherine would like another baby.
“She loves children and is prepared to put herself through another pregnancy even though they have been complicated by severe morning sickness in the past.”
Kate has made headlines for having severe morning sickness - known as hyperemesis gravidarum - during all of her three pregnancies.
Earlier this year, Kate also let slip that she felt “broody” after meeting a young well-wisher during the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s tour of Northern Ireland.
Kate’s eye was caught by an adorable baby boy being held up by his father, who said: “He’s a very sweet little boy, how old is he?
The father responded that he was five and a half months old and Kate smiled and added: “He’s so diddy, it makes me very broody.”
And royal punters also seem keen on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to have another baby.
According to bookies Betfair, odds are now at 7/2 for Prince William and Kate to have a fourth child.
Betfair spokeswoman Katie Baylis said: “A year on from the birth of Kate and William’s third child Louis, the arrival of Harry and Meghan’s first born Archie is biggest story in the world right now.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have warmly welcomed the new arrival and now there is speculation that the little royal may have got the couple feeling broody again.
“We make it 7/2 that Kate and William will have a fourth baby which would excite royal fans who can’t get enough of royal babies.”

Kate's first baby news! 2012
The rumour mill went into overdrive in the late autumn of 2012 when a change was noted in Kate's appearance. The Duchess seemed to have a slightly fuller face and more colour to her complexion, leading to speculation that she was pregnant with her first child. On 3 December 2012, Kensington Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were expecting. As Kate was less than two months into her pregnancy, the couple had hoped to keep the news quiet for a little longer, but decided they needed to make the announcement early as the Duchess was admitted to hospital for severe morning sickness.

Princess Charlotte is born, 2015
After weeks of anticipation, the Duchess of Cambridge welcomed her second child at 8:34am on Saturday 2 May. Well-wishers were thrilled to learn that Kate had given birth to a baby girl, and got their first glimpse at the tiny Princess of Cambridge when the family left the Lindo Wing at 6:10pm that same day.
Two days later it was announced that William and Kate had chosen to name their daughter Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana – a fitting tribute to two incredibly important people in William's life, his late mother Princess Diana, and his grandmother the Queen.
After the baby Princess was introduced to several members of the royal family, including the Queen, William and Kate retreated to their country home in order to adjust to life as a family of four out of the public eye.

The wedding day
On Friday 29 April 2011 at 11 o'clock HRH Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine Middleton were married in Westminster Abbey.
Ahead of the service, Miss Middleton travelled by car with her father from the Goring Hotel, down The Mall to Parliament Square.
Lining the aisle were eight 20 feet-high trees six English Field Maple and two Hornbeam. Miss Middleton carried a bouquet of myrtle, lily-of-the-valley, sweet William, ivy, myrtle and hyacinth.
The Dean of Westminster conducted the service, the Archbishop of Canterbury married the couple and the Bishop of London gave the address.
After the ceremony the newly married couple, now titled Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, travelled in a horse-drawn carriage procession to Buckingham Palace and were greeted along the streets by members of the public.
The Queen hosted a Reception for the couple and their guests at Buckingham Palace, and The Prince of Wales hosted a further private dinner in the evening.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for an RAF flypast and two kisses!
The couple's wedding cake was made by Fiona Cairns. The cake was a multi-tiered traditional fruit cake decorated with cream and white icing in the Joseph Lambeth technique.

Prince Louis is born, 2018
In April 2018, William and Kate welcomed their third child, baby Prince Louis. The happy news was announced by Kensington Palace on Monday 23 April. The official statement read: "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."
It was later revealed that the couple had chosen to name their third child Louis Arthur Charles.

Kate and William hit the Seychelles
A holiday for two was in store in August 2007, when William whisked Kate off to the Seychelles, as reports circulated in the UK that the brunette beauty had been given the keys to William's official residence, Clarence House. In a bid to keep their relationship low-key, the couple reportedly booked the entire resort – at a cost of £20,000 – and checked in under the names Martin and Rosemary. "They thought it would be fun to use joke names," a local source told a newspaper. "They are enjoying pretending to be an ordinary young couple in love on a romantic holiday."
To further guarantee their privacy, the son of the Seychelles president imposed an exclusion zone around Desroches, the palm-fringed island paradise where they were staying. Bookies began offering odds of 25/1 that Kate would come back with an engagement sparkler on her finger, and odds of 250/1 that the couple would tie the knot while they were out there.

First official tour, 2011
William and Kate made their first official tour overseas as a married couple just two months after they married. The royal couple travelled around the US and Canada for 11 days.
While the trip held particularly poignance for the British royal family – as the tour fell on the 225th anniversary of the first royal visit to Canada, by the then Prince William (later King William IV) – it was also especially exciting for Kate who had never visited North America.
The Cambridges were given a warm welcome, with locals showing their appreciation and respect for Kate who had made a point in wearing Canadian fashion designers at various points throughout the trip.

Charles joins Kate and William on the slopes, 2008
An Easter break in their beloved Klosters proved the perfect getaway for the sporty pair, who had had little time for romance in the previous months as William took part in an intensive pilot training course at RAF Cranwell, Lincolnshire.
For the first time, Kate was granted a Royal Protection officer on the slopes – and in a further sign of her importance within royal circles, Prince Charles joined them later on during their stay. "It speaks volumes about the seriousness of the relationship she has with the royal family," reported a source, who also divulged: "Kate and William had a little time apart last year, but that is very much behind them now. They are very much together."

William refuses to comment, 2006
By July, the couple had still not officially reunited. Despite Chelsy Davy taking a seat next to Prince Harry at the Concert for Diana, Kate was seated two rows behind the royal contingent in the Royal Box. Prince William, for his part, was remaining tight-lipped on the status of their relationship.
A day before the Wembley concert, held on what would have been his mother's 46th birthday, he was taken aback by a question about whether or not Kate would be attending. "I've got lots of friends coming. Everyone's going to be there on the night and it's going to be a very good night," he said – prompting his brother to joke: "Really well avoided William, very diplomatic."

A month later in May 2008 and there was no doubting the seriousness of their relationship. While William was duty bound to attend another event, Kate went to his cousin Peter Phillips' wedding to his Canadian love Autumn Kelly in his place. Palace insiders revealed that William's decision to let Kate stand in for him underlined the strength of their relationship.

When the children of the Queen and Prince Philip need to use a surname, they use Mountbatten-Windsor. That last name first appeared on an official document in 1973, when Princess Anne got married. And that will be the case unless Prince Charles decides differently when he becomes king. Prince William and Duchess Kate often use the surname Cambridge for their family, and Prince Harry has often used Wales as his surname.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are celebrating their eighth wedding anniversary on Monday - so we thought we'd take a look back at the royal couple's blossoming relationship right from the start. Prince Williamand Kate, who are now the proud parents to three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, met at the University of St Andrews in 2001. They both lived at St Salvator's Hall residence, but it wasn't until the following year in 2002 that a spark grew.
Kate first caught William's eye when she took part in a charity fashion show, wowing in a bikini and a sheer dress. The pair's friendship soon turned to romance, with William and Kate even sharing the same flat in the second year of university. Fast forward 18 years, and the couple are now happily married with three children.
Let's take a look back to see how their love story continued..

Like most marriages there is always the rocky times

What Kate Middleton and Prince William realised about their marriage amid 'hurtful' cheating rumours
STAFF WRITER Jun 12th 2019

Kate Middleton and Prince William are "still going strong" following rumours earlier this year that William had an affair with Kate's friend, Rose Hanbury.
This spring, the Duke of Cambridge's lawyers reportedly threatened legal action against the tabloid, In Touch, after it reported that he had cheated on his wife of eight years. Though the palace didn't even merit the rumours with a response, insiders told US Weekly that the couple had to "examine their relationship" amid the speculation.
"Kate finds the rumours hurtful, obviously, and hates the thought that one day her children will be able to read about them online," a source said. "It forced her and William to sit back and examine their relationship, which they realised they should have been doing more often."
William and Kate share children George, Charlotte and Louis, and have been married since April 2011. This is the first time that they had been hit by rumours of infidelity, which "didn't go down well with Kate," another source claimed.
The couple apparently didn't let the allegations affect them too much, though they did use the controversy as a reminder to continue to focus on maintaining their strong marriage.
"[They are] determined to pull through it and are doing a great job at getting their marriage back on track again," the second source explained. "It's not unusual to have a few hiccups in a marriage, especially after eight years, and Kate and William are no different. They're still going strong. Regardless of their ups and downs, they love each other dearly and their kids are the most important thing in their lives."
Most recently, the couple attended Trooping the Colour in celebration of Queen Elizabeth's birthday last weekend, where they were all smiles alongside their three children -- including Louis, who made his big balcony debut during the annual event.

Since Kate Middleton's relationship with Prince William came to light, the Duchess of Cambridge made sure she assembled a handful of people to become her strong support system as she prepared for life under the royal spotlight. Several of Kate's friends hail from her school and university days - and while decades have since passed, the royal has remained very close to them. They have been by her side in almost every important milestone; her engagement to William, their royal wedding in 2011 and of course, when the couple welcomed their three children. Here's everything you need to know about Kate's closest friends...
In January, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were pictured heading to church in Sandringham with a group of their close friends; Lady Laura Meade and husband James Meade as well as Emilia Jardine-Paterson and her husband David. Lady Laura is Prince Louis' godmother, while her husband delivered the best man speech for William at his and Kate's wedding. Meanwhile, Emilia is Prince George's godmother. Although the royals were enjoying their winter break in Norfolk, they made sure they spent their first Sunday church service with their confidantes.

The Cambridges made their first appearance as a family of five in July 2018, attending Prince Louis' christening at St James's Palace, the same place where big brother George was also baptised. Kate looked absolutely besotted by her baby boy, while her husband William took charge of the couple's older children.

Secret engagement, 2010
Their relationship went from strength to strength and many commented on how happy and in love the couple appeared when they attended a wedding in October 2010. What the world didn't know was that William and Kate were sharing a very special secret – the Prince had proposed during a holiday in Kenya.

Kate and William wed, 2011
In April 2011, Kate wed her Prince Charming in a spectacular ceremony at Westminster Abbey. Emerging from the Phantom Rolls Royce VI that had borne her on her final journey as Miss Middleton, Kate was an angelic vision in her ivory silk tulle Alexander McQueen wedding dress. As she took her father Michael's arm to make her way up the steps to the abbey, the beautiful Kate was met with gasps from the crowd.
The groom and the bride sealed their love in a ceremony that combined pomp and pageantry with the most personal of touches, and converted Kate at a stroke into Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge.
Crowds lined the streets, waving Union Jack flags and cheering and applauding with delight as the newlyweds kissed on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. "Let's give them another one," William said to his bride as he leant in for another sweet kiss.

Kate Middleton and Prince William The Duchess and Duke of Cambridge and first two children Prince George and Priness Charlotte

Prince William and Duchess Kate’s third child, who was born on Monday, already boasts a very long, fancy title: His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge.
Prince Louis won’t have is a last name, at least not officially.
Here are the full names and full titles of key members of the royal family, though those titles can change depending on where they are in the world at the time.

Hannah Carter
Hannah Carter, nee Gillingham, is one of Kate's best friends from school. Both William and Kate attended her wedding to Robert Carter (the son of wealthy Norfolk landowner Robert Carter) in May 2012, the weekend coincided with the royal couple's first wedding anniversary. Hannah is also one of Prince Louis' godparents.

Officially back together, 2008
Just over a year after their reported separation, Kate was back by William's side in April 2008, when he received his wings upon completing his RAF training. It was her first appearance at her boyfriend's side at a formal event since December 2006 – when she attended his passing out ceremony at Sandhurst. And she looked every inch the Princess-in-waiting, turning heads in an ivory-coloured double-breasted coat and black suede calf-length boots.
